The Company
Mosscare Housing is a not-for-profit Housing Association, responsible for over 2,800 properties and sheltered accommodation schemes in the Greater Manchester area.
It provides accommodation services for the community by developing new properties, renovating existing ones and managing the tenancies. It is also involved in a range of community initiatives and neighbourhood regeneration projects.
The Objective
A key goal for Mosscare Housing was to improve their asset management, with a central, searchable source for properties which they own and manage, complete with photographs.
The Solution
An intranet using the Interact product was installed, which incorporates key core features such as:
- User profiling of information so users see the correct and relevant information.
- Content Management
- Staff Directory
As with any intranet, it is crucial to engage users with interesting features and content to encourage them to return to it on a daily basis. Mosscare Housing installed an intranet containing key business applications to encourage regular useage, including:
- Ability to manage Housing Stock - including photographs
- Ability to provide IT support in a structured manner
- Instant access to key information relevant to each department
The Housing Stock database enables the staff at Mosscare to gain an extensive knowledge iot its housing stock and the properties it needs to improve.
Service to their internal IT users is more effective and managed in a structured manner. Users are updated on the progress of their support calls, and help the IT department identify frequently experienced problems. The team can then take steps to prevent these problems happening again.
Users get instant access to key performance indicators, such as management reports and performance graphs which are of the utmost importance to them and thus reduce the time they spend looking up information.
The Benefits
The solution was delivered using the core Interact system, which includes key features such as a staff directory, news section, search facility and staff discussion boards. Mosscare Housing implemented the following additional modules and bespoke work to complete their solution.
The Helpdesk module enables Mosscare Housing to manage their IT issues and customer service calls. It also has the ability to produce reports of commonly occuring problems.
Advanced Security provides strict security for documents such as Management Reports, down to individual article level.
The Homepage Manager gives users quick access, direct from their intranet homepage to key performance indicators such as management reports and sales performance graphs. It also has the ability to be linked directly to other internal systems.
The Housing Stock Databse maintains a searchable directory of housing stock, complete with photographs, thus helping Mosscare Housing to meet and excel their Asset Management targets.
